Renault test driver Nelsinho Piquet took the 2007 GP2 car out prior to its launch in Monaco last week. The revised car features an all-new aero kit which includes an engine cover-mounted mid wing, new sidepod-mounted exhaust chimneys and “T wings” and an all new rear wing assembly. 2007 will be the last year of the original car’s three-year design cycle.

Now I’m not totally keen on the new aero from an aesthetic point of view (although I do like the mid wing), but I do like the series principle of changing the design each year. Not that changes seem to stop ART winning the championship each year, despite it supposedly preventing one team from carrying over an advantage from one year to the next.
