Now on the way home from the Race of Champions (online thanks to the wonders of GNER onboard wifi). Another great event, although I thought the crowd was much reduced from last year. A real shame that Scott Speed couldn’t attend in the end but Travis Pastrana drove superbly on his own, which we were delighted by as he’s a lovely guy. He told us that the RoC organisers tried to get Marco Andretti, as he’d been testing at Jerez, but “his team” wouldn’t let him take part.

I’m actually sad that RoC is moving to Wembley for 2007, because I think the atmosphere the French fans generate is part of the appeal and I’m not sure Wembley will have the same ambience.
