Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais is to have a second F1 test for Scuderia Toro Rosso. STR team boss Gerhard Berger also criticised the work ethic of 2006 race drivers Tonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed.

“You don’t see superstars like Schumacher and Alonso at too many parties,” Berger said, before outlining the Italian squad’s far more serious ‘goals’ for F1.

He said of Speed and Liuzzi: “If they also share these goals, they will sit in our cars. If they do not, a further cooperation would be a waste of time.”

STR have still not confirmed their 2007 drivers.

Heikki Kovalainen topped the times on the final day of this week’s Jerez test. Giancarlo Fisichella, in the second Renault R27, was second quickest, with Takuma Sato third for Super Aguri.

Tomáš Enge topped the times for the Czech Republic during free practice for this weekend’s A1GP race at Taupo, New Zealand. Williams test driver Narain Karthikeyan was second for Team India, while Loïc Duval, making his debut for Team France, was third. Series leader Nico Hülkenberg was fifth quickest for Team Germany.
