Lewis Hamilton escaped without injury from a major accident at Valencia today. His MP4-22 is however too badly damaged to repair at the Spanish circuit, cutting Hamilton’s test short. Teammate Fernando Alonso will run tomorrow in the sister car as McLaren investigate the cause of the crash.
Defending Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais topped the test times at Sebring, the first test with the new Panoz DP01 chassis. Paul Tracy was second quickest for Forsythe, with Katherine Legge third quickest for Dale Coyne Racing.
