Super Aguri may take court action to regain the services of test driver Guido van der Garde, who defected to Spyker after just one’s day testing at Valencia.
“Giedo should have completed the 300 kms necessary for the F1 superlicense, but we instead had to restrict his run to a few installation laps because his company didn’t fulfil on time the commitments they had with us,” (managing director Daniel Audetto) was quoted as saying by Autosprint magazine.
“Van der Garde signed with us, a month ago, a contract deposited at the FIA office in Geneva. It’s by all means valid and we are ready to pursue legal action.”
Van der Garde was signed by Super Aguri in December. Given the ongoing dispute over the legality of Super Aguri’s 2007 car, the two teams could be spending a lot of time in court this year.
Team Germany’s Nico Hülkenberg will step down from the team after the next A1GP race in Durban due to F3 Euroseries commitments. He will be replaced by 17-year old rookie Christian Vietoris.
