As rumoured yesterday, legendary marque Aston Martin has been bought by a consortium led by David Richards of Prodrive and backed by Kuwaiti investors. It is reported that Richards has invested in a personal capacity … but, come on, the PR value of using that name in F1!
Jarno Trulli pulled out of a Toyota event in Tokyo due to a high fever earlier today. However, team boss Tsutomu Tomita was philosophical about the Italian’s illness.
“I think he should be alright,” Tomita told Reuters. “We’re not too worried. It’s hardly life-threatening.”
With the first GP of 2007 next weekend, Toyota will be hoping that Trulli makes a swift recovery.
Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger has denied reports that he is selling his stake in the team to another former F1 driver - a certain M. Schumacher.
I know nothing about it and nobody has spoken with me about it,” the Austrian veteran told the newspaper Kleinen Zeitung.
A relative newcomer to the team ownership game, Berger said it would make ‘no sense’ to buy and sell the Toro Rosso squad so quickly.
He added: “But you should also ask (team co-owner) Didi (Mateschitz).”
Never a dull moment with RBR/STR, is there?
