Bernie’s challenge to A1GP - the GP2 Asia Series - has been announced in Monaco. The winter series will run in what is currently the off season. No calendar or venues have been confirmed.

It’s been a day of crashes in Monaco, as Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Davidson and (predictably) Ralf Schumacher all put their cars in the barriers. Fernando Alonso went quickest in the afternoon session, ahead of Kimi Räikkönen.

Pastor Maldonado topped the GP2 practice times in Monaco, ahead of the usual twosome of Timo Glock and Giorgio Pantano. Débutant Sebastien Buemi, standing in for the injured Michael Ammermueller at ART, was a surprising sixth fastest.
