carroll_viso.jpgAdam Carroll and Ernesto Viso will both return to the GP2 series at Magny Cours this weekend, following the departure of Antonio Pizzonia and Sergio Jimenez from FMSI and Racing Engineering respectively. Pizzonia’s strong pre-season form had failed to translate to race results, while Jimenez ran out of cash.

Carroll, who is expected to combine GP2 with his DTM campaign, has not driven a GP2 car since Monza last year; Viso, who tested for FMSI at the recent mid-season test, is a surprise choice for Racing Engineering.

“I am incredibly proud to see the GP2/08 test for the first time,” said series organiser Bruno Michel. “It is an aggressive and beautiful looking car, and is the perfect vehicle with which to take this series forward.

Like its predecessor, the car is likely to undergo revisions during the development cycle to keep the racing as close as possible.
