iSport’s Timo Glock has taken pole position for tomorrow’s GP2 race at Magny Cours, ahead of teammate Andreas Zuber, Arden’s Bruno Senna and ART’s Lucas di Grassi. Returnees Adam Carroll and Ernesto Viso qualified fourteenth and nineteenth respectively.

Nick Heidfeld may be forced to withdraw from the French Grand Prix following a recurrence of the back pain he suffered during Silverstone testing.

“The practice sessions have been okay so far and, anyway, I like driving on this circuit,” said Heidfeld, who finished the afternoon session in 18th position.. “I stopped early because I wanted to save my back.

“Last week at the Silverstone test I had some problems. I can still feel it and as a precaution I want to have it checked today.”

If Heidfeld does withdraw, it is likely that he will be replaced by test driver Sebastien Vettel.

ASM’s Kamui Kobayashi took the F3 Euroseries pole position at Magny Cours today, ahead of teammate Romain Grosjean and Signature’s Yann Clairey. Nico Hülkenberg, Edoardo Mortara and Basil Shaaban were all penalised five grid places for taking the chequered flag twice at the end of the session.
