BMW Sauber driver Robert Kubica has passed his FIA-mandated medical and will race at Magny Cours.

“I’m 100 percent fit,” said the 22-year-old driver, who missed the last US Grand Prix after an horrific crash in Canada on June 10.

“I’m looking forward to this race and happy that I missed only Indianapolis.”

19-year old test driver Sebastien Vettel became the youngest ever points scorer when he substituted for Kubica at Indianapolis.

Rumours of Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais moving to Toro Rosso have resurfaced.

“If it’s going to happen, it has to get going pretty soon,” Bourdais said. “You don’t get into Formula One past 30 years old, and I’m 28, so it’s pretty clear it’s either going to be next year, or probably never.”

With Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger admitting that running two inexperienced drivers has hurt the team - not that this comes as news to most people - Bourdais could be an interesting option.
