Nigel Stepney has been sacked by Ferrari following an internal investigation amid claims of sabotage prior to the Monaco Grand Prix. A criminal investigation is still under way.

A Ferrari spokesman confirmed to autosport.com: “An internal disciplinary procedure has been completed and Nigel Stepney is no longer an employee of Ferrari.”

Stepney, who is currently on holiday, has protested his innocence.

One would have thought that any investigation would have wanted to hear from the alleged guilty party but in this, as with many things, Ferrari play by their own rules…
