Former Spyker F1 driver Christijan Albers is to test an Audi DTM car in Spain this week, and may return to the series in 2008 for the Audi-powered team Futurecom-TME, run by Spyker F1 boss Colin Kolles.
Newly announced Renault F1 test driver Romain Grosjean will race for ART in GP2 in 2008.
“Romain is the second driver after Lewis Hamilton who symbolizes the synergy between GP2 and the F3 Euro Series within the ART Grand Prix team,” said team boss Nicolas Todt.
“We will recreate the same conditions for Romain that we had in place for Lewis (Hamilton) and hope to get the benefit from them.”
Grosjean won the F3 Euroseries title with ASM/ART this year.
Oliver Jarvis will race for A1GP Team GB in China, while Tomas Enge makes a return to the series for the Czech team following his sportscar accident.
“It is not going to be easy due to the long break and also my elbow,” Enge said. “My arm, which I injured in April’s ALMS race at St. Petersburg, is not causing any problems under normal stress but we have to wait and see how it will react to the biggest possible stress in A1GP.
A1GP cars demand more power and it brings therefore bigger stress for the elbow. Hopefully, everything will be okay and I will race. It should be clear after Friday’s practice.”
Erik Janis will be the team’s reserve driver.
