Jonny Reid may have pleased the home crowd with a win in today’s A1GP sprint race in Taupo but it was Team Germany’s Christian Vietoris who survived an eventful feature race to take his first A1 victory, becoming the third German driver to win races in the series.

Team Switzerland came to Taupo as series leaders but a disastrous weekend for Neel Jani - culminating in him being admonished by the team for what looked to everyone else like common courtesy - has meant that New Zealand move into the lead of the series.
