Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen set the pace at Valencia testing yesterday, ahead of Nico Rosberg, driving the new Williams, and the McLaren duo of Heikki Kovalainen and Pedro de la Rosa. Former Williams driver Alex Wurz made his track début as Honda test driver.
Nigel Stepney, the man at the centre of last year’s spygate row, has become ‘director of race technologies’ at Gigawave Ltd. Although the FIA initially insisted that Stepney ‘would be pursued by the governing body’s legal department and possibly banned from international motorsport ‘for a lengthy period’, it seems the ire of the governing body has been reserved primarily for McLaren.
And, on that note, Max Mosley says that any team caught spying in future can expect to be kicked out of the championship. McLaren were heavily fined and lost their constructors points over ’spygate’
