iSport driver Karun Chandhok set the pace in the first day of GP2 testing at the Paul Ricard circuit today, edging out ART’s Romain Grosjean and FMS’s Andy Soucek in the morning session. Pastor Maldonado went fastest in the afternoon session for Piquet Sports, ahead of Racing Engineering’s Javi Villa, but he failed to beat Chandhok’s time.

Michael Herck (DPR), Ho-Pin Tung (Trident) and Christian Bakkerud (Super Nova) propped up the bottom of the timesheets in both sessions.
