Lewis Hamilton converted pole into a race win at today’s Australian Grand Prix but for most of the grid life wasn’t quite so simple in what became an incident-packed race from the very first lap. Behind Hamilton, Nick Heidfeld took second for BMW-Sauber and Nico Rosberg third for Williams, but there were only six other classified finishers.
Rubens Barrichello, who finished sixth, may still lose the place subject to a stewards ruling.
Robert Wickens took a controversial pole for Team Canada for the A1GP feature race in Mexico, however other drivers were unhappy about him doing so under waved yellow flags. Wickens will start ahead of Neel Jani (Switzerland) and Michael Ammermüller (Germany).South Africa’s Adrian Zaugg took a less contentious pole for the sprint race, ahead of Jonny Reid (New Zealand) and Jonathan Summerton (USA).
A1GP reigning champion Nico Hülkenberg set the fastest time in F3 Euroseries testing at Valencia yesterday for ART Grand Prix. A1 teammate and Euroseries rookie Christian Vietoris was second fastest for Mücke Motorsport.
