Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix today, ahead of the Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen. Jenson Button was fourth quickest for Honda. Red Bull Racing were summoned to the stewards following David Coulthard’s dramatic crash in the first practice session and did not take part in the second.

In a statement the Red Bull Racing team said: With safety the team’s primary concern as always, it has been decided that David will not run in this afternoon’s session. This will allow the team sufficient time to investigate the causes of the incident and to ensure that the car is fully and properly repaired prior to tomorrow’s final free practice session.

The stewards’ concern centered around the apparent fragility of the car’s suspension.

Tom Dillmann set the pace in F3 Euroseries testing at Estoril yesterday, ahead of Manor Motorsport’s Koudai Tsukakoshi. Pre-season favourite Nico Hülkenberg was fourth quickest.
