Williams have confirmed Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima as their 2009 drivers, with Nico Hülkenberg staying on as test driver.

Team boss Frank Williams said: “I am delighted we are able to maintain continuity with our drivers going into 2009. Nico Rosberg continues to be one of the most capable drivers in the sport. Kazuki is getting stronger all the time and has more to offer and Nico Hulkenberg is developing well.”

GP2 runner-up Bruno Senna, meanwhile, is looking set for a seat at Toro Rosso next year.


The 2008/09 A1GP season gets underway at Zandvoort this weekend, but as many as four teams will not be competing following problems with the new Ferrari-designed car. Teams GBR, Mexico and Germany will not race this weekend but a new points system this year means that teams will be able to drop one feature and one sprint race result.The season was due to start at Mugello but the round had to be cancelled because the new car was not ready.
