Reigning F3 Euroseries champion Nico Hulkenberg won today’s GP2 race in Qatar, the first night race the series has run. Hulkenberg lost his pole advantage at the start, which was mired by a huge crash involving Sakon Yamamoto and Yelmer Buurman, but drove a superb race to clinch the victory.
The BBC website has an interesting report on the effects of the economic downturn on Nascar, noting that advertisers and car companies may be less keen to push their products through motorsport if potential customers aren’t spending. Obviously this has relevance to other racing categories too.
Former Super Aguri driver Anthony Davidson will join BBC Radio 5 Live full time this season, alongside regular commentator David Croft and pitlane reporter Holly Samos.
