The ongoing dispute over the legality of Toro Rosso’s 2007 car has taken another turn, with team bosses Gerhard Berger and Franz Tost apparently suggesting that the blueprints obtained by Spyker and used in evidence in Spyker’s arbitration proceedings could have been tampered with.
Meanwhile, Spyker’s dispute with Super Aguri - the other team at the […]

Update: Stewards reject Spyker protest

Posted in April 6th, 2007
by miranda in customer cars, f1, politics

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sepang stewards have rejected Spyker’s protest over the legality of the 2007 Toro Rosso.
“Spyker have made an application for arbitration and must by definition therefore be deemed to accept that a dispute such as this (the grounds of the protest being effectively the same as that matter to be determined in arbitration) does […]

The Spyker team have launched arbitration proceedings against Super Aguri & Toro Rosso over the legality of their 2007 cars. The Chamber of Commerce in Lausanne, which rules on all disputes involving the Concorde Agreement, will oversee Spyker’s complaint.
Max Mosley is staying remarkably silent on this - most unusual for Max - and it can […]

Kimi Raikkonen comfortably took the first Ferrari pole position of the post-Michael Schumacher era (to use that increasingly tiresome phrase) in Melbourne, ahead of McLaren’s Fernando Alonso and Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber. Lewis Hamilton qualified fourth on his F1 debut, ahead of Robert Kubica in the second BMW Sauber.
Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson […]

by miranda in a1gp, customer cars, f1, politics

Super Aguri may take court action to regain the services of test driver Guido van der Garde, who defected to Spyker after just one’s day testing at Valencia.
“Giedo should have completed the 300 kms necessary for the F1 superlicense, but we instead had to restrict his run to a few installation laps because his company […]

Scuderia Toro Rosso owner Gerhard Berger says the team are ready for a court battle if, as expected, Williams and Spyker contest the legality of STR’s 2007 car, a version of Red Bull Racing’s RB3.
“If they want to do so, fine, then we will fight it out,” Berger told the official Formula One website. “But […]
