Adam Carroll put Team Ireland at the top of the A1GP series standings with an emphatic feature race win at Sepang today, ahead of Filipe Albuquerque (Portugal) and Marco Andretti (USA).
Neel Jani won the sprint race for Team Switzerland ahead of Loic Duval (France) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand).
F3 Euroseries runner-up Edoardo Mortara won the qualifying race in Macau today, as polesitter Carlo van Dam went out of the race after a coming together with Renger van der Zande.
The eventful race saw ten retirees, including both ART drivers. James Jakes tangled with Brendon Hartley, while Jules Bianchi took out Max Chilton after a spin.
Carlo van Dam took pole position for this weekend’s F3 Macau Grand Prix, as second-quickest Sam Bird fell to fifth after being given a three-place grid penalty.

Adam Carroll took a A1GP sprint race win for Team Ireland at Chengdu, and then completed a strong weekend with second place in the feature race behind Team Portugal’s Filipe Albuquerque. Team GB’s new driver, Danny Watts, was third in both races.
After two rounds Malaysia lead the championship on 28 points, with Ireland and France tying on 23 points. Behind them, Team New Zealand and Team Netherlands are tied on 20 points.

Team Ireland and Team Great Britain start from pole position for the sprint and feature races respectively at the Chengdu circuit for the second round of the 2008/09 A1GP season.
Adam Carroll took sprint race pole for Ireland after the second segment of qualifying was cancelled following Edoardo Piscopo’s excursion, thanks to the marshals taking a inordinate amount of time to remove the stranded car. Robert Doornbos starts from second in his first race for Team Netherlands.
Another series debutante, Danny Watts, took pole for the feature race, with Carroll alongside.

Lewis Hamilton has won the 2008 F1 World Championship in a dramatic final race of the season in Brazil. Rival Felipe Massa won his home race but Timo Glock’s gamble on dry tyres did not pay off and Hamilton passed him for a crucial fifth place on the very last lap.
Fernando Alonso finished second, while Kimi Raikkonen’s third place clinched the constructors’ championship for Ferrari.
Felipe Massa took pole position for tomorrow’s Brazilian GP, with championship rival Lewis Hamilton starting from fourth. A flu-ridden Jarno Trulli took a surprise second place for Toyota, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Heikki Kovalainen starts fifth, with Fernando Alonso starting sixth.
It was a bad day for Williams, with Kazuki Nakajima and Nico Rosberg lining up sixteenth and eighteenth respectively. David Coulthard will start fourteenth for his final F1 race.
The FIA has issued a statement condemning comments left on a Spanish website regarding Lewis Hamilton’s championship bid.
“The FIA’s position is very clear. Discrimination and prejudice can have no place in sport or society. Everyone in our sport will join us in condemning these abusive and hateful comments,” an FIA spokesman said.
McLaren have also condemned the comments.
Nico Hülkenberg took his seventh win of the 2008 F3 Euroseries championship at Hockenheim today, ahead of Christian Vietoris and Renger van der Zande. Vietoris raced under appeal due to a technical infringement in qualifying and hence van der Zande was promoted to second place with Mika Maki finishing third. All three drivers, along with Jules Bianchi, are fighting for second place in the championship behind Hülkenberg.
