Lucas di Grassi won today’s GP2 feature race at Monza ahead of Pastor Maldonado and Sebastian Buemi, on the day that Giorgio Pantano took the 2008 GP2 championship despite losing a likely race victory after receiving a drive-thru penalty for crossing the white line while leaving the pits.

Giorgio Pantano took the GP2 pole position at Monza yesterday - and moved another two points closer to the 2008 title. Lucas di Grassi starts from second on the grid, while Pantano’s championship rival Bruno Senna starts twelfth.

Pastor Maldonado took a last-gap win in the GP2 sprint race this morning, as Bruno Senna failed to capitilise on the absence of the excluded Giorgio Pantano. An eventful race saw a number of crashes, including those of Mike Conway and Andy Soucek.
